Your home is prewired. Now make it intelligent.
Modern Smart Home turns builder-installed low-voltage wiring into a professionally designed Control4 system—using the infrastructure that serves the home well and engineering everything needed for exceptional performance.

From cable to complete experience
Prewire is the beginning—not the finished system.
We evaluate what the builder provided, match the system to the property and install the network, rack, control and connected technology as one coordinated foundation.
- 01Audit the wiring
Identify cable types, locations, labels, pathways, power and equipment-space limitations.
- 02Design the system
Define Control4, network, lighting, AV, surveillance, shades and future-capacity requirements.
- 03Install & commission
Build the rack, terminate cleanly, configure devices and test performance throughout the property.
- 04Personalize & hand off
Create scenes and interfaces around the household, document the system and provide homeowner training.
Practical guidance
Prewired-home questions, answered.
What does it mean when a new home is prewired for smart-home technology?+
Prewire usually means the builder installed low-voltage cable to selected television, speaker, camera, network or control locations. It is valuable infrastructure, but it is not yet a complete smart-home system.
Can Modern Smart Home use wiring installed by the builder?+
Often, yes. We identify, test and document the cabling, determine what it can reliably support and then design the Control4 system around the home. If important wiring is missing, we explain the cleanest correction options.
When should I contact you about a prewired home?+
Ideally before closing or before final design selections are locked, but we can also evaluate a completed home before you purchase equipment. Earlier involvement creates more choices and fewer compromises.
What can be installed in a prewired home?+
Depending on the wiring and property, the system may include Control4 automation, managed Wi-Fi, whole-home audio, televisions, theater, surveillance, lighting control, motorized shades, door stations and outdoor entertainment.
